Councillor Peter Grippaudo was elected as the new Fairfield City Deputy Mayor at Monday night’s Ordinary Meeting of Council.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone congratulated Clr Grippaudo on his appointment and thanked Sera Yilmaz for her work as Deputy Mayor over the past year.
“I look forward to working closely with Clr Grippaudo as we continue to build on Fairfield City’s reputation as a great place to live, work and raise a family,” Mayor Carbone said.
Councillor Grippaudo said he was honoured to be entrusted with the Deputy Mayoral role.
“I am a strong advocate for the Fairfield City community, aiming to make a positive contribution to the entire Fairfield City local government area to make it an even better place to live and work,” Councillor Grippaudo said.
“I look forward to continuing to work with the Mayor and all my Councillor colleagues and carry on the wonderful work carried out by the former Deputy Mayor Councillor Sera Yilmaz.”
Clr Grippaudo is a licensed builder and has been a past board and committee member for numerous not-for-profit organisations involved in supporting people with disabilities and providing aged care health and retirement living as well as a board member for Club Marconi and the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.
