Event schedule: 12pm - Gathering: Emily Wurramurra 1.30pm - Brisbane City Gospel Choir 2.40pm - Brisbane City Gospel Choir 2nd set About the performers Emily Wurramurra - As part of the INAS Global Games 2019, Brisbane City Council partners with the games to present Emily Wurramara as part of the Gathering program on the Queen Street Mall stage. Emily Wurramara references her home of Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory through her music. Emily sings in both English and Anindilyakwa, the traditional language of her home where she grew up fishing, listening to stories of dreams and dolphins, as well as travelling around the islands to visit family. Brisbane City Gospel Choir (BCGC) - BCGC is a multi-purpose and culturally diverse group represented with members of different nationalities and backgrounds and was founded in 2010 by Tosin Adewumi (Music Director). The BCGC sound combines the richness of contemporary gospel music with an underlying musical taste spanning different contemporary styles, all in one, with rich harmonies. More information about the games From 12-19 October, more than 1000 athletes from 50 countries will converge on Brisbane to participate in the world's largest sporting event for elite athletes with an intellectual impairment. Athletes will compete in 10 sports including Table Tennis, Athletics and Swimming which are internationally sanctioned and a pathway to qualifiying for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Held once every four years, this will be the first time that the Games have taken place in the Asia Pacific region.
