Batemans Bay’s aquatic, arts and leisure centre has reached a major milestone, with the lodgement of a development application for the project.
Mayor Liz Innes says the DA is the culmination of years of work on behalf of the Eurobodalla community.
“We’ve spent years carefully planning this development, securing $51M in NSW and Australian government funding, and working with architects develop the plans in collaboration with the community and user groups.
“Council is now firmly on track to provide this brilliant new facility. It’s an exciting time,” she said.
Because the value of the development is over $30M and Council is the owner, the NSW government’s Southern Regional Planning Panel will determine the proposal after consideration of Council’s assessment, either later this year or early-2020.
Council aims to tender for construction of the centre soon after.
The application and plans can be viewed online here or at Council’s administration centre in Moruya, and the Batemans Bay and Narooma libraries.
