Residents living in Cambooya will move to High Level water restrictions effective immediately.
Toowoomba Regional Council Waste and Water Committee Chair Nancy Sommerfield said the change in restriction level was required due to a rapid drop in the Cambooya bore level.
“Our staff are constantly monitoring the bore levels throughout the Region and noticed a significant drop in the level at Cambooya,” she said.
“The change in conditions mean residents relying on this source of water will now be moved to High Level water restrictions.
“Starting tomorrow we will begin trucking in potable water to Cambooya to ensure there is sufficient water available for residents.
“We understand these are trying times with the ongoing drought and appreciate the efforts all our communities are undertaking to save water presently.
“In the meantime, our staff will continue to monitor the levels of all our systems and we ask residents to continue conserving water wherever possible.”
The decision to move Cambooya to High Level water restrictions comes on the back of Vale View, Cecil Plains and Yarraman moving to High Level water restrictions earlier this year.
The current High Level water restrictions for residents is 170 litres per person, per day.
