Snowy Monaro Regional Council would like to invite nominations for its Tourism Advisory Committee. The Committee will comprise of up to five community representatives, representation from Tourism Snowy Mountains, Council staff and Councillors.
We are seeking nominations from suitable people who possess the following: •An active connection or involvement in the tourism industry. •Knowledge of how the tourism industry through Regional Tourism Organisations, Destination NSW and Tourism Australia, works collaboratively in areas such as grants, industry development, marketing and infrastructure. •Knowledge of economic, social and environmental opportunities and challenges that face the tourism industry in Snowy Monaro. •Experience in all or any of the following areas; •Tourism at a local and/or regional level •Tourism associations and/or business networks •Business, management, marketing, research •Community initiatives that contribute to the local tourism economy •Committees or boards
The primary role of the Committee is to: The primary objective of the Tourism Committee is to represent the tourism industry, provide advice and make recommendations to Council on matters relating to tourism, the development of tourism and the future of tourism in the Snowy Monaro LGA.
Specifically, the committee will support the implementation of the Snowy Monaro Destination Management Plan 2019.
The Committee will meet quarterly with the meeting location to be determined by consensus. Participation in meetings via digital means such as phone or Skype is possible.
