Work on Beach Road at Batemans Bay continues, with the new dedicated lane turning right into Orient Street requiring night closures for the section of road between Perry Street and Orient Street on 28, 29 and 30 October for sealing. The existing traffic lights will be replaced with new ones at the same time.
During this period Beach Road will be open during the day under traffic control.
During the night works, this section of Beach Road will be closed between 6pm and 4am. Detours will be in place with motorists travelling south on Perry Street only able to turn right onto Beach Road. Commuters east of the work site should access the Princes Highway via the Old Princes Highway or Bavarde Avenue. There will be no access from Commercial Lane to Beach Road during the night work.
Pedestrians will be directed through the area as necessary. All efforts will be made to minimise noise but residents nearby may be able to hear heavy machinery.
Currently the left-hand lane on Orient Street south of the Beach Road intersection is closed to cater for pedestrian access around landscaping work by the NAB building. Motorists can still turn either left or right onto Beach Road. This left-turn lane will remain closed until the new traffic lights are installed.
