Be prepared this summer: Community Emergency Preparedness Workshop Published: 18 October 2019

Council is inviting residents to attend a Community Emergency Preparedness Workshop to prepare for the upcoming summer season.

The free session will provide residents with the skills necessary to help prepare for emergencies, as well as easy-to-understand resources. The workshop is relevant to emergencies including fires, floods and storms.

Event details:

When: Wednesday 30 October, 6.30–8pm Where: Cardinia Shire Council Chambers, Civic Centre, 20 Siding Avenue, Officer. RSVP essential: To book, visit www.trybooking.com/553338 or call 1300 787 624.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Graeme Moore encouraged all residents, particularly those living within fire or flood zones, to take advantage of Council’s free workshop.

“Being prepared for emergencies is everyone’s responsibility,” he said.

“Research has shown preparedness works well when residents share knowledge in their communities. It is vital that every community member living within an emergency zone is prepared for any event that may occur. Do not leave your planning to the last minute. Give your family the best chance by being prepared. Please consider attending this localised, free workshop.”
