Are you a local performer, business owner or a part of a local cultural group? Then don’t miss your chance to put your best foot forward at the Wanneroo Festival.

The inaugural Festival, being held on 26 January 2020 at the Wanneroo Showgrounds, is a community based event driven by the City’s diverse multicultural community.

Wanneroo Festival will celebrate and showcase the many cultures that contribute to the City of Wanneroo population.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said the Wanneroo Festival will be a lively, family-friendly event featuring fireworks and performances from local celebrities.

“Our City would not be the vibrant and progressive place it is today without the rich cultural diversity of its people.”

“This event is a great opportunity to honour and celebrate the cultures of our residents who proudly call the City of Wanneroo home,” Mayor Roberts said.

“I encourage local artists and performers including dance groups, singers and choirs as well as retailers and food vendors to consider taking part in the Festival to share their music, dance, food and other talents with the community.”

Mayor Roberts said the Festival will follow the City’s citizenship ceremony which in past years has been the largest in the country on Australia Day.

Multicultural Advisory Group Chairman Joe Tuazama said the City of Wanneroo has a lot to celebrate.

“The City of Wanneroo’s ethnic diversity is really special. The Wanneroo Festival is a great opportunity for the community to come together to share and experience each other’s cultures,” Mr Tuazama said.

Expressions of interest to participate in the event close on Saturday 19 October 2019. Details can be found at www.wannerooevents.com.au/wanneroofestival or by contacting the City’s Events Team at [email protected] or phone (08) 9405 5000
