Council is pleased to announce a $1.7 million upgrade of Strathfield Library, located at 65-67 Rochester St, Homebush, is planned to commence in December 2019.
Strathfield Library was built in 2004, and the internal space is now ready to be refurbished to better service residents. The planned upgrade will ensure that the Library can provide the community with a more comfortable and engaging space, that enhances learning and information sharing.
The planned upgrade will include:
- An exhibition square
- Multi-purpose space
- Children’s area
- Internal study stadium
- Computer lab
- Open meeting quarters
As a result of the planned upgrade, there will be reduced services available from Monday 2 December and the library will be shut down after Friday 20 December 2019 until March 2020.
The services available to members during the planned upgrade will be a home library service and use of the book locker which allows members to book, collect and return items 24/7. Book lockers are located at Strathfield Library and High Street Community Centre.
