Central Highlands Regional Council will issue half-yearly water notices on 31 October 2019 with an extended discount period of 70 days for the water access charge.
The notices will include the water access charge for July to December 2019 and water consumption charges from December 2018 to May 2019.
Council encourages ratepayers to make their payment by 9 January 2020 to take advantage of the 10 percent discount for water access. This date includes the extended 70-day discount period which council grants ratepayers solely for this notice due to an upgrade to council’s corporate finance system.
Council offers ratepayers a variety of payment options, with preferred methods being:
BPAY In person with cash or card at council’s customer service centre. In person at any Australia Post office or online via Post Billpay. Credit card over the phone. By direct debit, either via a total deduction on the notice due date or periodic deductions. An application form to set up direct debit is available on council’s website.For people that are unable to pay their notice, council offers payment by instalments.
People should apply for payment by instalments immediately after receiving the notice. That way they may have the notice paid off prior to the expiry of the discount period.
Ratepayers who do not receive their rates notice by 15 November 2019 should contact council to check their postal address and request a copy notice.
