Snowy Monaro Regional Council’s planned works for the upgrade of Myack Street, Berridale, which included flood mitigation works along Coolamatong Creek (through Memorial Park), has caused considerable concern in the community.

This was exacerbated by Council’s intention to remove seven trees from Memorial Park which were planted by the community in memory of those who did not return from active service.

Council will hold a community meeting on Wednesday 30 October at 5pm in the Snowy Mountains Country Club to discuss community concerns and determine a way forward.

Council acknowledges the historical significance of the trees planted in Memorial Park and their connection with our community.

Council sincerely apologises for the angst and concern this issue has caused.
