You're invited to have your say on the future of Guildford, Hazelmere, South Guildford Local Area Plan (LAP), which is now open for comment for four weeks.
Local Area Plans are important documents used by the City to plan for specific areas, address local community issues and meet their future needs.
City of Swan Mayor Kevin Bailey said the City appreciates the tremendous support and contribution made by community members and other stakeholders in developing this local area plan.
"We've worked with you to identify issues affecting your area, and produced a plan with solutions that respond to your feedback," he said.
The LAP includes the suburbs of Guildford, South Guildford, Hazelmere, Perth Airport (North Precinct) and Bushmead.
Midland Guildford Ward Councillor Claire Scanlan said the proposed solutions and actions include a review of the Guildford Conservation Policy, improving walkability along and over the Helena River, running a trial for recycling bins in parks and collaborating with community groups to improve streetscapes.
“The City’s priority is to work together with the community to produce the best plans for the future of our area,” she said.
"The community are now invited to comment on the draft Plan before it is presented to Council for review and endorsement."
The draft Plan is available for comment from October 21, with submissions closing on November 17, 2019.
Copies of the plan will be available at the Guildford Library, the City of Swan Administration Centre in Midland, and on the City’s website at www.swan.wa.gov.au/Haveyoursay.
