Tallowwood Point Bridge Closure Update Promised Land Road, Gleniffer

Bellingen Shire Council advises that the Tallowwood Point Bridge, Promised Land Road, Gleniffer, will remain closed as investigations continue regarding the load rating and structural assessment of the Tallowwood Point Bridge.

A full load rating and structural report on the Tallowwood Point Bridge is necessary and once the details of this report are at hand, which is anticipated to be late-November 2019, Council will provide a further update.

The Tallowwood Point Bridge is a timber bridge located approximately seven kilometres from the Gleniffer Four-way Intersection and during the closure period, vehicular traffic will be required to comply with signage and utilise the alternate arm of the Promised Land Road loop.

Emergency service agencies and utility providers have been notified of the temporary closure of Tallowwood Point Bridge, which does not affect existing bus routes or services, and motorists are advised to plan their journey to allow for extra travel time.
