Tommy Cummings can't stop smiling when he gazes at the Lionel Watts skate park.
The Davidson High student was asked to be part of the design process and was 'like a kid in a candy shop' when the park opened earlier this week.
"It feels great to know I had a personal involvement, not many people can say that,'' the teenager said.
"My aim was to make the (skate) park fun for everyone, and the feedback from skaters has been very positive.
"I really enjoyed helping out, it was good to contribute to our local community."
Tommy, who lives 'a few streets away' from the sporting precinct, previously had to travel to Terrey Hills to skate with his mates.
To now have a state of the art skate park a few minutes from his front door is 'fantastic.'
The teenager also had a cheeky message for Northern Beaches Mayor Michael Regan - 'build more skate parks.'
