For the first time, Illuminate will be held at Fairfield Showground, meaning more families than ever before will be able to come together and celebrate the New Year from 5pm on Tuesday, 31 December.
Fairfield City residents will get the first chance to secure their spots at the popular event when ticket allocations open on Wednesday 6 November from 10am, for an exclusive two-week period.
From Wednesday 20 November, all remaining tickets will be released to the general public.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said he was excited that more families will be able to attend this year’s Illuminate.
“Illuminate has proven every year to be one of our most popular events,” Mayor Carbone said.
“In previous years, tickets would sell out within a day, meaning many missed out on their chance to attend.
“We’re bringing Illuminate to the heart of the city so everyone can join in the fun and festivities,” Mayor Carbone said.
“With a far bigger, custom-built festival arena at our new Fairfield Showground, I’m proud to say that this year’s Illuminate will be our biggest ever, with thousands more tickets available for residents.
“I can’t wait to see all the smiling faces at Fairfield Showground at what we expect will be the largest crowd ever at Illuminate.”
This year’s Illuminate will have a superhero theme. Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor and Captain America will thrill families with meet and greets throughout the afternoon, while Batman and Joker will don jetpacks and do battle with a show complete with LED lights and flames!
There will also be free amusement rides and carnival games, music, dance, food and drinks, virtual reality experiences, camel rides, face painting, airbrush tattoos and more. There will be a spectacular fireworks finale at 9.30pm.
Bring a picnic rug, chairs and an esky and get ready to enjoy the show!
Tickets are available for a small booking fee of $3 at www.fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au/illuminate.
