Residents are invited to snap a picture of their favourite Cardinia Shire open space to go in the draw to win one of two Gumbuya World gift vouchers!
Photos can be of any of the shire’s sport and active recreation reserves, nature reserves, parks and playground spaces, wetlands, trails and urban plaza spaces.
To enter the photo competition, residents can take a photo of their favourite open space, upload it to Council’s website and tell us why they love going there (bonus points for a creative hashtag that best describes the space!)
Two $100 Gumbuya World gift vouchers will be awarded to the best pictures, with one winner to be decided by Council and the second to be based on the amount of ‘likes’ the photo receives.
For competition guidelines and terms and conditions, please visit www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/haveyoursay
The photo competition will contribute to the development of a new draft Open Space Strategy. The strategy will analyse the existing provision of open spaces across the shire, identify gaps and provide the strategic direction for Cardinia Shire’s open spaces over the coming decade.
Residents of all ages are encouraged to participate in the photo competition or provide feedback online or in person to help Council develop a comprehensive plan that appropriately reflects the community’s preferences.
The new Open Space Strategy will be the key piece of strategic work that will shape Cardinia Shire’s open spaces for the next 10 years.
Residents can upload their photos and have their say on Council’s Open Space Strategy at www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/haveyoursay
Council will also be conducting an extensive range of drop-in sessions throughout October and November 2019 for residents to contribute their thoughts and ideas for the strategy in person. For dates, times and locations of these sessions, please visit www.cardinia.vic.gov.au/haveyoursay
Alternatively, feedback can be emailed to [email protected] or posted to: Open Space Strategy Consultation, Cardinia Shire Council, PO Box 7, Pakenham VIC 3810.
Both the photo competition and the community consultation closes 5pm, Sunday 1 December 2019.
