On 1 November, Council in partnership with Aligned Leisure, welcomed the opening of the outdoor pool season.
Seven of Council’s outdoor facilities opened, however the Irymple Pool opening was delayed due to repair work required to rectify the pool’s concrete structure.
The pool was expected to reopen on 15 November, however due to unforeseen circumstances, the major repairs to the Irymple Swimming Pool are taking longer than expected which will further delay its opening.
Despite a concentrated program of works to have the pool ready this month, it now won’t reopen until late December/early January.
Council apologises for the inconvenience this may cause Irymple residents, particularly with the warmer months ahead.
We recognise that our swimming pools are an important community asset and the repairs that are currently being undertaken will ensure that the Irymple pool can be enjoyed by residents now and into the future.
In a bid to support the local community wishing to use public swimming pools during this period, Council in partnership with Aligned Leisure, is offering Irymple residents access to the Mildura Waves pool at the same price they would normally pay at their local facility.
Council is working closely with our public swimming pool operator Aligned Leisure and will stay in contact with community groups that may be affected by these circumstances and work with them to try and reduce the impact.
Works required at the Irymple Swimming Pool include:
repairs to the pool shell (started in September) review and repair surface cracks caulking of expansion joints structural assessment concrete assessment core sampling and repair repainting of pool surfaces.Media enquiries Ben Piscioneri p) (03) 5018 8689 e) [email protected]
