Extra recycling bin collection for Christmas

Fairfield City Council is again giving residents an additional free recycling bin pick-up over the Christmas/ New Year period.
Between 23 December 2019 and 3 January 2020, you can take out both your recycling and waste bins on your normal garbage pick-up day.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said the Christmas and New Year period is a busy time for families.
“Christmas and New Year is a time for families to come together to unwrap gifts and enjoy eating and drinking together,” Mayor Carbone said.
“Council knows that this also brings extra wrapping and recyclables into the house.
“Council wants to help residents continue to recycle well and help save the environment. These extra collections will help residents to free-up their bins for extra recyclable waste.
“Council wants families to relax and enjoy Christmas together while ensuring our city always looks great. We want a City of which we can all be proud and an attractive place to live, work and raise a family.”
