Garage Sale

Looking to rehome preloved homewares, clothes or furniture? Registrations are now open for this year’s Garage Sale on Sunday, 10 November.

Stalls are $40.00 each for a 7m x 4m space.

One stall - $40.00

Two stalls - $80.00

Three stalls - $120.00

One whole Pit Garage - $160.00 (four stalls)

Village Meetings

Village meetings with residents in areas will be held during October/November. Residents are invited to attend and meet with Councillors and senior staff to discuss projects and any other matters of interest.

Each meeting will commence at 6.00pm and will be held at the following locations:

Hill End, Royal Hall - 4 November

Yetholme, Community Hall - 11 November

Trunkey Creek, Community Hall - 12 November

Sofala, Memorial Hall - 25 November

Wattle Flat, recreation Hall - 26 November

Food and Flix – Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

The Youth Council’s Food and Flix will return to the Adventure Playground on Friday, 15 November. The event will start at 6.30pm with movie screening at 8.00pm. People are encouraged to bring a blanket and a picnic. There will also be some food available. Entry is free. For more information visit www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au

Water Restrictions

Extreme water restrictions are now in place across the Bathurst region.

This means:

- No watering of lawns - Only watering your garden on Wednesday and Sunday between 6pm and 9pm for a maximum of 30 minutes using a hand held hose with a trigger nozzle or one soaker hose or one microspray system - No sprinklers of any kind are permitted - No car washing at home - No filling of new pools using the Bathurst water supply - No topping up your pool unless you have a permit from Council - Pools must be covered at all times - No topping/filling up garden features or child pools - No washing of hard surfaces except for health and safety purposes - 4 minute showers - Only wash clothes and use dishwashers when there is a full load

Water Smart Gardening

Qualified horticulturist and award-winning gardener, Dhyan Blore, will present a series of workshops for home gardeners at Rahamim Ecology Centre. Topics include caring for plants in dry times, maximising water in gardens and plants, the importance of mulch, features of drought tolerant plants, water for backyard birds and wildlife and using greywater on gardens. Pillars of Bathurst

The Pillars of Bathurst project honours the lives and contributions of past residents who have played an important role in the history of the region throughout the different eras. Nominations are now open for the 2020 Pillars of Bathurst. Nomination forms and guidelines are available from https://yoursay.bathurst.nsw.gov.au/pillars

Nominations close 29 November.

Tree Planting Day

Sunday 10 November

The ‘Rehabilitation of the Macquarie River Riparian Corridor’ projects planting stage is on the home stretch with over forty local volunteers already giving their time to plant native trees, shrubs and grasses along a 1km stretch of the Macquarie River.

Commencing at 10am at the Baillie Street Open Space (Cnr Havannah Street and Sydney Road- Kendall Ave), adults and kids alike can assist in planting native trees and shrubs and other tasks that will improve the health of the Macquarie River and its riparian corridor. Council will alsohave a free BBQ lunch afterwards.
