Children’s Centre wins excellence award for sustainability education

Northern Beaches Council’s Narrabeen Children’s Centre has won an Excellence in Early Childhood Education Award for its sustainability education program.

The award for outstanding Educational Program with the Sustainability Project was recognition of the Centre’s philosophy of rethink, reduce, reuse and recycle.

The Children’s Centre beat nine other finalists to win the award, which was hosted by the Australian Childcare Alliance New South Wales.

Narrabeen Children’s Centre aims through working with families and the community to empower children to take responsibility for looking after the environment.

Through the implementation of this philosophy Narrabeen Children’s Centre have been able to embed a number of daily sustainable practices into their educational program to encourage and support children and families.
