Cessnock City Council’s Carols in the Park 2019 is set to go off with a bang on Friday 6 December 2019 at Cessnock Sports Ground from 6pm.
Country music star and local resident Tara Naysmith returns to the Carols stage as MC. The Hunter’s Santa’s Little Helpers are also back for another year of musical magic under the guidance of Musical Director Greg Patterson. Greg is well known for his outstanding contribution to big stage musicals and his wonderful work as an arranger, and has been a part of the Carols family for many years.
Of course, the night would not be complete without a visit from the man himself. Santa will rest his reindeers in the nearby vineyards and enter in style in a helicopter generously provided by Slattery’s Helicopter. As always the night will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display that is sure to delight and amaze.
This annual event continues to go from strength to strength and has become the heart of the Cessnock Local Government area’s Christmas celebrations, with an array of entertainment for the whole family.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent is excited to celebrate as a community.
“It’s so special to come together as a community to mark the end of the year. We are lucky to have such a wonderful event, with great entertainment. I’m already looking forward to a visit from Santa. We know our youngest residents are already counting down the days!”
Pack a picnic or select a delicious treat from one of the hand-picked gourmet food and refreshment trucks on site. Gates open at 6pm and the carolling kicks off from 6:45pm. Carols in the Park 2019 is strictly an alcohol-free event.
The event is proudly sponsored by Newcastle Permanent Building Society (our major sponsor), Cessnock City Council, Rover Motors and Slatterys Helicopters. For more information visit www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au.
