A $2.8 MILLION contract to repair roads in the Douglas Shire damaged during the 2019 flood events has been awarded to HEH Civil Pty Ltd.
Douglas Shire Council today resolved to award the contract to repair 76 different road assets damaged during monsoonal events in January and February.
Damage ranged from loss pavement and bitumen surfacing, damage to drainage structures, scouring of unsealed roads, loss of table drain shape, culvert blockages, damage to road signage, scouring to culvert outlets and debris across road surface.
The project will improve road access for residents, businesses and visitors in Douglas Shire.
