Changes to the Prohibited Burning Period
Shire of Capel 14 Nov 2019

The Prohibited Burning Period will now start on 1 December 2019 instead of 15 December. Notice has been provided in accordance with the Bush Fires Act 1954.

Notice of Variation of Prohibited Burning Period in Accordance with Bush Fires Act 1954

Section 17 (7) and (7B) of the Bush Fires Act 1954 enables a Local Government to vary the Prohibited Burning Period under the Act due to season conditions by periods not exceeding 14 days.

In accordance with these provisions, notice is given that the commencement date for the Prohibited Burning Period for the whole of the land district of the Shire of Capel has been brought forward from 15 December 2019 to 1 December 2019.
