Would you like to help us develop a new plan to help make the shire more child-friendly?
The new Municipal Early Years Plan 2020-2025 will identify key priorities and look at how we can best support children and families in the shire over the next five years.
We’d like to hear from the community about your needs, aspirations and priorities, which will help inform the new plan.
Director Community Wellbeing, Karen Stevens said Council is committed to supporting families and children in our community.
“This is a great opportunity for community to tell us about their aspirations for a child-friendly shire,” Ms Stevens said.
The plan will focus primarily on children from birth to eight years old but will also consider the important role that families and the broader community play in early childhood education and care.
“We want to ensure all children are valued, thrive, reach their potential and participate in the community now and into the future,” she said.
Council is running an online survey, workshops and pop-up activities over the next four weeks to gather feedback from the community. The consultation will run until 13 December.
It is expected a draft plan will be available for community consultation early next year, with the final plan due for completion by June 2020.
