 To keep our community up to date with key Council decisions, outcomes and plans; here is a snapshot summary from Council’s Wednesday 13 November 2019 ordinary meeting

Vibrant Communities

Endorsed the 2018/19 Placemaking Program proposed projects for Athlone, Erica and Thorpdale with a minor amendment to the Thorpdale project.

  

Thriving Economy

Accepted the preferred concept design for a new multi-use pavilion at the Trafalgar Recreation Precinct and approved Council officers to develop and submit grant applications for external funding towards the project.  Agreed to rescind the Business Advisory Board and write to each member of board, thanking them for their contribution.

  

Organisational Excellence

Adopted the 2018/19 Annual Report.  Adopted the revised Baw Baw Shire Procurement Policy and approved an increase to the Chief Executive Officer’s financial delegation from $250,000 to $750,000.  Adopted the revised Election Period Policy 2019-2023.   What's next?

The next meeting will be a Special Council meeting (to elect a Mayor and Deputy Mayor) from 5.30pm on Wednesday 20 November at the West Gippsland Arts Centre. Community members are welcome to attend or tune into the live stream from home. The agenda for the next meeting will be available online the Friday prior to the meeting.
