Community groups that love getting their hands dirty working on public land or creating local environmentally sustainable solutions are invited to lodge an application for Bellingen Shire Council’s 2019/20 Environmental Levy Community Fund.
Bellingen Shire Council Mayor, Cr Dominic King, said community groups wanting to deliver, develop or contribute towards local environmental projects and initiatives were encouraged to apply for grants to the maximum value of $5,000.
“We’re inviting applications for local projects carried out on public land, or land that is readily accessible to the public, that focus on invasive plant and biodiversity management activities, coastline and river management projects, sustainable food production practices and climate change initiatives,” Cr King said.
“I also encourage community groups who are successful in gaining funding under this program to also apply for external funding grants where possible to match and maximise their funds and deliver the best environmental outcomes possible.”
Community Groups please note applications close midnight Sunday 15th December 2019 and applicants are required to review Council’s Environmental Levy Community Fund Guidelines available at https://www.bellingen.nsw.gov.au/environment-waste/environmental-levy-and-community-grants and contact Council’s River & Biodiversity Officer, Amanda Carter, on 6655 7300 prior to submitting an application.
