Lithgow City Council wishes to advise that the water supply in the following areas may be affected due to water mains breaks.

Lithgow Council has repaired a break in the areas of Cook Street and Lett Street, Lithgow. Service to residents should not have been affected, but it is advised to run a tap to ensure water is clean should dirty water be present.

Council then experienced a break in its reticulation system earlier this morning that services the area of Coalbrook Street, Lithgow. Council is currently undertaking repairs and it is expected that normal service should be returned within the next hour.

Upon return of normal service, residents may experience dirty water for a period. Council will endeavour to minimise this by flushing the mains. Before using the water for domestic purposes, residents are advised to run a tap to ensure the water is clean and any dirt released into the system has been flushed.

Council has experienced a number of water main breaks that are still effecting the following areas;

Lithgow Council advises due to the extent of the break repairs are expected to take approximately 3-4 hours and updates will be provided as further information becomes available. Park Parade, Lithgow. Council at this time cannot determine the extent of the break and therefore cannot advise of the time that it may take to complete repairs to resume normal service. Again, Council will endeavour to provide updates as further information becomes available at this point there in estimated time for the resumption of service. Bayonet Street, Lithgow. Council has been advised of a leak, crews are currently assessing to determine the extent and will undertake repairs at the completion of the aforementioned works
