The North East Network of Flexible Learning Centres are situated in four regional cities Benalla, Shepparton, Seymour and Wodonga.
The schools cater for students who have complex needs and who have previously disenged from the education system.
Each school takes a turn at organising an art exhibition to showcase our students' artworks.
This term it is the responsibility of Wodonga Flexible Learning Centre to organise the art exhibition.
The art exhibition ‘ZERO’ was inspired by the skateboard exhibition held earlier this year at Wodonga Plaza, the theme was anti-drugs.
This inspired our student Nikita Treffers to suggest that our exhibition have the theme of anti-violence.
Students are responsible for the organisation of the exhibition and as such are very committed to the anti-violence theme of the art.
Student Lachlan Canty will perform music at the opening celebration at Wodonga Plaza and has also designed the promotional poster and invitation.
The opening will take place on Tuesday, December 3 from noon.
We have had generous support and encouragement from Lisa Hastie, marketing assistant at Wodonga Plaza.
Wodonga Plaza have organised a People’s Choice Award so the community can vote for their favorite artwork.
The artworks have been created on plywood so they can be secured to the wall in the plaza and are all the same size to create the effect of one large installed artwork which will have a powerful impact to viewers as they enter the Wodonga Plaza south entrance.
For further information and to RSVP to the opening, contact art teacher Linda Fish 0419 352 457.
