Lithgow City Council wishes to advise that the water supply in the following areas may be affected due to water mains breaks.

Council has experienced another break in its reticulation system this afternoon in Coalbrook Street, Lithgow. Council is currently undertaking repairs and it is expected that normal service should return at approximately 8.00pm.

Upon return of normal service, residents may experience dirty water for a period. Council will endeavor to minimize this by flushing the mains. Before using the water for domestic purposes, residents are advised to run a tap to ensure the water is clean and any dirt released into the system has been flushed.

Council has experienced a number of water main breaks throughout the day which has stretched Council’s resources. Staff have been unable to respond to a leak in Park Parade, Lithgow. Council at this time cannot advise of the time that it may take to complete this repair. Again, Council will endeavor to provide updates as further information becomes available.

Residents in Railway Parade, Tank Street, Read Avenue, Johns, Hayley, Clarice and Roy Street may have experienced a drop in pressure or no water this afternoon. This issue has been resolved and residents of these street should no longer be effected.

Again residents may experience dirty water for a period. Council will endeavor to minimize this by flushing the mains. Before using the water for domestic purposes, residents are advised to run a tap to ensure the water is clean and any dirt released into the system has been flushed.
