Lithgow City Council is once again calling on the generous spirit of the Lithgow community to donate gifts for aged care residents to the 2019 Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.

“The Mayor’s Christmas Appeal is an opportunity for the community to donate a small gift to elderly residents living in aged care facilities across the LGA,” said Mayor Ray Thompson.

Small gifts such as crochet coat-hangers, soft smelling lotions, fluffy socks, comfortable slippers, Santa hats, personal cosmetic wipes, mind games like Scrabble, crossword puzzles, and Sudoku, and chocolate treats and cookies are greatly appreciated.

All gifts must be un-used, wrapped in Xmas paper and tagged with “male” or “female”. They can be dropped off at Council’s Administration Building 180 Mort Street Lithgow or at any one of Council’s libraries by Friday 13 December 2019.

“I know that we have a very generous community, even at times like this when people are doing it tough through the drought. These gifts will make a big difference to the enjoyment of Xmas by the residents of our aged care facilities,” continued the Mayor.
