Over two hundred people from as far away as Mackay have descended on Gympie Regional Council’s Monkland quarry for a chance to pick up a bargain.

There were approximately 120 registered bidders.

Everything from concrete piping and culverts to ride on mowers and park benches were up for auction.

The items were a result of a clean-up of Council depots and mainly consisted of old material  and equipment no longer fit for Council use.

The money raised will go directly back into community.

The auction was administrated by local firm Tom Grady Real Estate.
