Christmas in the Mall postponed

The region is currently experiencing the significant effects of smoke caused by bushfires in the region and an unfavourable wind direction which is having an impact on Armidale today and is predicted for tomorrow.

The health of our residents is of utmost importance. Council has made the decision to postpone the Christmas in the Mall celebrations in Armidale scheduled for tomorrow afternoon from 5pm-9pm.

We are planning to reschedule the event on Wednesday 4 December.

The decision has been made now as over 80 stallholders, with many travelling from outside the region, will require adequate notice, some may have already commenced their travels. There is still plenty of time for Council to reschedule Christmas celebrations in Armidale to another week.

Christmas in the Mall is one of our biggest outdoor events with many families attending. We want to put on the best event for the Armidale community to enjoy in favourable conditions. Santa is very accommodating and isn’t too keen to travel at the moment either!
