Wyndham City is calling on the community to join in this year’s Christmas celebrations kicking off on Friday (29th November) with the lighting of the Christmas tree.

Werribee Lights Up for Christmas invites our community to visit the City Centre to eat, play, and shop local this Christmas.

The evening will begin at 6pm in Station Place, with children’s activities a DJ and the lighting of the Christmas Tree at 8.30pm.

Tourism and Major Events portfolio holder Cr John Gibbons said the evening’s free activities include a visit from Santa and his elves, children’s crafts, ginger bread making, and the always-popular face painting.

“Bring your family, friends and neighbours to Station Place to celebrate the lighting of the six-metre-tall Christmas tree and spend time together before the busy Christmas season begin.”

From 6.30pm head to the launch of Red Centre, this year’s major public art extravaganza, located in and around the Cultural Centre in Werribee’s very own west end.

While you’re in the neighbourhood, be sure to wander across to Wedge Street Piazza and see the display of wooden Christmas trees which have been decorated by 10 local primary schools.

Then the Christmas countdown continues with the lighting of the Werribee City Centre Christmas Tree at Station Place at 8.30pm, with fun and festivities running through to 9pm.

“Why not make a day of it, get your Christmas shopping underway in the City Centre and join friends for dinner after visiting Red Centre and the lighting of the Christmas tree.

Be sure to join us for a great night out at Werribee City Centre on Friday 29 November.
