One of the biggest waste management issues in Boroondara is contamination in our recycling bins. Putting non-recyclable materials in a recycling bin means the waste will often be sent to landfill, so it’s important residents understand what can and cannot be put in recycling.
To help prevent contamination and ensure the recycling efforts of our community count, Council contractors will be placing stickers on recycling bin lids to help residents recycle correctly.
Putting recycling stickers on your binsStickers will be placed on bins once they have been put out for collection, so you may notice our contractors in your street between approximately 7pm and midnight the night before your scheduled recycling collection.
If our contractors can’t access your bin, the sticker will be placed in your mailbox. We anticipate this will be completed by approximately 12 December 2019.
