Light Up the Lake will return to Chipping Norton Lake’s Grand Flaneur Beach this New Year’s Eve with a bonanza of family friendly entertainment and a double set of fireworks.
“Liverpool’s much-loved lakeside festivities are the place to be on New Year’s Eve,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said.
“There’ll be amazing live performances, carnival rides, food and the Channel 10 fireworks spectacular, which will illuminate the sky at 9pm and midnight.”
Mayor Waller said Light Up the Lake was an ideal way for families to ring in the New Year.
“Light Up the Lake is an iconic event on Council’s annual calendar and is the perfect way for families to welcome the New Year in a safe environment that is close to home,” Mayor Waller said.
“Council is delighted to partner with Channel 10 to build on our exceptional event experience and I look forward to celebrating a terrific 2019 with the people of South West Sydney.
“We will use our New Year’s Eve celebration as an opportunity to collection donations for the NSW Rural Fire Service to support their continued efforts to protect homes and wildlife from bushfire.”
Gates at the free, all-ages celebration open at 5pm and live entertainment starts at 7pm. There will be event parking at Chipping Norton Community Centre and Heron Park. Regular shuttle buses will run between event parking sites and Liverpool and Warwick Farm train stations.
