The Juno Centre Open Day 2019

Since its inception there has been a lot to celebrate about the Juno Centre.

Student attendance, learning and engagement has continued to increase. In Term 3 the Juno Centre had a total of 838 visitors and Term 4 is looking just as promising with a range of Vocational Education and Training being delivered to help prepare students for jobs later in life. 

Community involvement is very much on the increase and since August 2019 the Juno Centre has featured a number of times in the Tennant & District Times and now has its own newsletter and Facebook page that is updated regularly.

Ongoing participation of indigenous workers at Juno Centre and has meant continued mentoring to the young fellas that come to Juno once a week from Tennant Creek High School. As well as this they continue to mentor other students who visit from communities around the NT.

Since August 2019 a new VET Trainer/Manager and Administration Manager have been added to team and the Undercover Arena has proved to be an important and necessary addition for the centre.  

Barista courses have commenced, recent purchases of a new Stallion Marnies Ace and a new bull Viva Max as well as a lot of other stock (mainly horses) have also been added to Juno’s portfolio.  

The open day consisted of animal husbandry demonstrations by students and teachers, and a tour of the impressive FoodLadder horticulture  space. We stopped for lunch as the Barista students served us coffee and refreshments.

Thank you to the Tennant Creek High School for the magnificent work you are doing and we look forward to a continued and enriched program from the centre.
