The new Strategy will replace the current Maroondah Health and Wellbeing Plan 2017-2021, which is due to conclude in 2021.
Deputy Mayor, Councillor Marijke Graham, a member on the Maroondah Communities of Wellbeing Steering Committee, said the document would provide a longer-term direction for how Council can work to improve the liveability of our neighbourhoods and the wellbeing of our community ensuring residents enjoy good health and wellbeing at every stage of their lives.
“Updating the strategy is an opportunity for residents to tell us what they think the focus over the next decade should be to ensure Maroondah continues as a place that celebrates our diversity, has liveable, safe neighbourhoods, and that promotes community learning and social connection,” Cr Graham said.
The 10-year Strategy builds upon the strengths of the existing Maroondah Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2017-2021 and fulfils the legislative requirements of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008.
Contributions during this phase of consultation will be used to determine where Council should focus its ‘liveability and wellbeing’ efforts.
