Council supports several programs aimed at the young people in our municipality, as well as collaborating with other organisations to ensure a vibrant and active ongoing program of events and activities is in place.
At least twice per annum , Family Fun days / Health Expo’s are held in various townships spread throughout the municipality . These are mainly aimed at 0-6 and 0-12 year olds , and their parents . With the support of Reclink and other groups , Council provides a Youth Football League roster series of matches , culminating in a Gala Day usually held at North Hobart oval in September each year. The teams come from far and wide , and Southern Midlands provides two teams of the six participating , namely the Campania Cats from Campania District High School [ with assistance from Bothwell High ] and the Southern Midlands Hawks from Oatlands District High School .
Council , in conjunction with Communities for Children and the Oatlands Rural Primary Health Service , also conduct an interesting and varied School Holiday Program during all school term breaks . Please refer to our Community Notice Board section for current program details.
Please contact Council’s Community Development / Youth Officer at the Kempton office during business hours for any further information on any of these activities .
