Old mates Rodney Vincent and Wayne Horsburgh will team up on Wednesday 4 December to present a special Christmas event, the Ararat Town Hall’s final free lunchtime concert of the year.
Rodney and Wayne will present a fun-filled show of country music, comedy, storytelling, yodelling and even a bit of 1960s rock ‘n’ roll, with a special appearance from the jolly man himself, Santa.
Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison said the free lunchtime concerts were always a hit and invited everyone to come along to the final gig of the year and get in the Christmas spirit.
Wayne Horsburgh has won countless awards over the years and has been inducted into the Tamworth’s Country Music Festival’s Roll of Renown.
Rodney Vincent was voted Victorian Country Music Entertainer of the Year in 2006 and has toured with household names like Col Elliott, The Four Kinsmen and The Delltones. He has also been special guest on five of American rock and roll legend Gene Pitney’s Australian tours.
Both Wayne and Rodney were inducted together into the South Australian Country Music Hands of Fame at the Barmera Country Music Festival in 2011.
Wayne and Rodney’s friendship goes back many years to their band-playing days when they first started in Benalla and Wangaratta. Their show is full of variety with the performers both loving a laugh, and the rock and roll music taking audiences back to the 1960s with songs, stories and film clips that will bring back a lot of memories.
This lunchtime concert is free but people wanting to attend are encouraged to book a seat via the Ararat Town Hall’s website – www.ararattownhall.com.au.
