Magical Christmas fun is coming to town

Isaac Libraries are set to come alive with the sound of stories, laughter and fun as the delightful tradition of hosting end of year celebrations continues across the region this December.

The special First 5 Forever Story Time sessions, being held in six local towns, will feature fun and festive activities including singing, dancing, reading and craft.

Held at a traditionally joyous and family-oriented time of year, Mayor Anne Baker is encouraging parents, grandparents or carers to bring their little ones along to enjoy one of the interactive sessions on offer.

“These special festive Story Time sessions are a much-anticipated annual event at our libraries, and I would encourage all families to come and join in the fun,” Mayor Baker said.

“Council libraries are a great space to enjoy at any time of the year providing a unique opportunity to connect with others in the community and engage in a range of educational and creative activities.

“What better way for families to welcome in the festive season than to come and enjoy a free morning out, jam-packed with fun and engaging activities for babies and toddlers at their local Isaac library.”

Special celebration First 5 Forever Story Time sessions will be held from December 5 – 11:

Thursday, 5 December in Town Square in front of the Moranbah Library from 9am – 11am Friday, 6 December in Rose Harris Park, Clermont from 9.30am – 11.30am Monday, 9 December in Centenary Park, Dysart from 9am – 11am Tuesday, 10 December in Perry Park, Nebo from 9am – 10.30am Wednesday, 11 December at Glenden Recreation Centre from 9am – 11am Wednesday, 11 December at Middlemount Library from 10am – 11am

The state-wide First 5 Forever initiative is delivered locally by Isaac Libraries, to provide strong early literacy foundations for all children aged between 0-5 years.

The initiative is funded by the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with 72 local governments through a network of more than 320 local public libraries and Indigenous Knowledge Centres.
