As the Toowoomba Region prepares for new water restriction levels next week (2 December), Council’s water team will be meeting with residents throughout the Region who have questions about the new restrictions.

In total, Water and Waste Committee Chair Nancy Sommerfield said there would be 11 sessions taking place between December 2019 and January 2020.

“I think everyone appreciates how difficult conditions are at the moment and that is why we have implemented changes to the water restriction levels,” she said.

“Our dams are still about a third full but it’s important we continue to be responsible with our water usage which is why we have revised our target levels.

“The systems used in this Region are quite complex as some communities are connected to the Toowoomba Bulk Supply while others rely on bores or weirs so it’s important each community understands what level of restrictions they are on.

“These sessions will allow residents to gain a better understanding of what restriction level they are on and what their restrictions mean to them on an individual basis.”

If you have questions about your water restrictions, call 131 872 to book a time to chat with our water team.
