Gannawarra Shire Council will hold 11 Ordinary Council meetings in 2020.
The schedule of meetings for the coming years was approved at the November Ordinary Meeting of Council, with the current structure of monthly meetings held between February and December retained.
“Ordinary Council Meetings are open to the public, meaning that residents and other interested persons are most welcome to attend,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
“During Ordinary Council Meetings, Councillors consider and makes decisions on issues of public interest. These include, but are not limited to, financial matters, planning, policies and projects.
“Those in attendance are also welcome to ask up to three questions to Council during the question time section of the meeting.”
Ordinary Council Meetings will be held at Council’s Kerang Council Chambers, located at 49 Victoria Street, Kerang, at 6.30pm, on the third Wednesday of the month. The only exception is the June Ordinary Council Meeting, which is held on the fourth Wednesday of the month as the date coincides with the Australian Local Government Association’s National General Assembly, held in Canberra annually.
“Any changes to the date, time or location of meetings will be promoted to the community,” Mayor Learmonth said.
