2020 Performing Arts Subscription Season

The team at Burnie Arts & Function Centre is proud to bring you the 2020 Subscription Season. This year, the program has a focus on local Tasmanian productions, contemporary theatre, family theatre, dance, musical theatre, opera, jazz, wearable art, comedy, dinner-theatre, and classical music.

Burnie City Council Mayor Steve Kons, officially opened the 2020 Season Launch. Live excerpts from ‘Night, Richard. Night.’ were performed by actors from DoMaur. Del Polden, with singers from Burnie Musical Society, executed numbers from ‘Beautiful: The Carole King Musical’. Models from En Vogue wore paper garments designed by Pam Thorne and Cynthia Hawkins, explaining the origins of the concepts behind paper on skin, and demonstrating exquisite pieces made from at least 80% paper. Hellyer College provided live entertainment throughout the evening, with songs from their upcoming musical “The Wedding Singer”.

The Burnie Arts & Function Centre continues to deliver an outstanding program of performing arts in the region because of the generous support we receive from MMG Rosebery (through the artsUNEARTHED Arts for the Community Program), and the Burnie City Council.
