Closure of bushland reserves and lookouts

All Council bushland reserves east of Scenic World, at Katoomba, are now OPEN to the public. Access to the valley remains CLOSED.

The following Council bushland reserves remain CLOSED:

Landslide Lookout Cyclorama Point Malaita Point Eaglehawk Lookout 

The following Council bushland reserves east of Scenic World are now OPEN to public access. This includes:

Katoomba Falls Cliffview Lookout Honeymoon Lookout Leura Cascades Olympian and Elysian Rock Lookouts Sublime Point Lincolns Rock.

Echo Point remains open to public access.

Mayor Mark Greenhill said it’s important for the community to remain vigilant.

“Listen to the advice we are being given by emergency services. Be alert. Follow your Bush Fire Survival Plan.”

Cliff Drive at Katoomba, between Acacia Street and Peckmans Road, has reopened. Glenraphael Drive at Katoomba remains closed. Follow the direction of emergency services personnel in the area. Roads may be closed without warning.

National Parks and NPWS reserves, contact the NPWS Heritage Centre on 4787 8877 (9am to 4.30 pm - seven days) or go to the National Parks website.
