Level 3 water restrictions in effect

Level 3 water restrictions are in effect across the shire.

Eurobodalla Council’s director of infrastructure Warren Sharpe said the lack of rain and flow in the Deua and Tuross rivers meant the shire was reliant on Deep Creek Dam.

“We need the whole community to pull together to secure our precious drinking water,” Mr Sharpe said.

“Level 3 restricts outside water use to a hand held hose for up to an hour per day between either 6-8am or 6-8pm. Boaties will find water has been turned off at the boat ramps and they’ll need to flush their motors on the grass at home.

“Residents, visitors and businesses can find the full list of water restrictions on Council’s website.”

Mr Sharpe said the strong emphasis on information and education would continue under level 3 restrictions but those flouting the rules should expect tougher action, including on the spot fines.
