Residents can now experience the full benefit of the Cohuna Swimming Pool after works to repair exposed joint seals in the main pool were completed last week.
The main pool has remained open during the first two weeks of the 2019/20 season, with one lane closed and signage in place advising of the changed conditions around the area where the joint seals were exposed.
The exposed joints have not affected the main pool’s water quality, with enjoyable swimming conditions on offer for all pool users.
“The issue regarding the exposed joint seals was discovered at the Cohuna Swimming Pool once the main pool was full and the 2019/20 season commenced,” Mayor Lorraine Learmonth said.
“These rectification works are a temporary measure, but will hopefully allow the Cohuna Swimming Pool’s main pool to operate at its maximum capacity for this year’s pool season. Further assessments of the structure will occur at the conclusion of the pool season.
“Council thanks visitors to the Cohuna Swimming Pool for their understanding and patience as this matter has been addressed.”
