Temporary Closure of Portland Landfill

Lithgow City Council wishes to advise the temporary closure of Portland Landfill on Thursday 12th December 2019 to allow waste compaction operations to take place safely.

The temporary closure is necessary to allow the safe use of large machinery to place, compact and cover the waste.

Residents affected may use the Wallerawang landfill on the day of the scheduled closure or the Lithgow solid waste facility to ensure there is minimal inconvenience.
