Chance for Liverpool charity to make a bigger difference

Liverpool-based not-for-profit organisations have the chance to put their hand up to be the recipient of funds raised at next year’s Liverpool City Council Charity Ball.

“Liverpool City Council is incredibly proud to hold its annual Charity Ball in support of local organisations who do great things for the community,” Liverpool Mayor Wendy Waller said.

“The local organisation that is selected will have the chance to make an even bigger impact and deliver much more for their mission.

“Held annually, the Liverpool City Council Charity Ball brings people together for a night of great entertainment and cuisine as we celebrate our thriving city, while supporting a worthy cause.”

This year, more than $50,000 was raised for the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research, which will support their student programs and provide young people in Liverpool with hands-on experience in the fields of health and science.

Last year Liverpool Neighbourhood Connections received $46,000 from Charity Ball proceeds, allowing them to purchase a vehicle to support their work for disadvantaged people, most of them women.

“We’re already planning ahead for our next Charity Ball and thinking about ways we can build on what was a fantastic event experience for guests,” Mayor Waller said.

“Next year’s Charity Ball will be held on Saturday 1 August 2020, so be sure to mark it on your calendar and purchase tickets when they go on sale early in the new year.”

“I encourage any local charity who wishes to be the recipient of funds raised at our next Charity Ball to submit an expression of interest at Council’s website.”

Not-for-profit organisations who wish to become the beneficiary of funds raised at next year’s Charity Ball need to visit www.liverpool.nsw.gov.au/charityballeoi and complete the Charity Ball fundraising expression of interest form by Sunday 12 January 2020.
