If you know an inspirational Ararat Rural City resident who deserves recognition for their hard work, Council is encouraging you to nominate them for an Australia Day Award.
Nominations for the Australia Day Awards 2020 are now open, with four categories – Ararat Ambassador, Multicultural Harmony, Community Spirit and Inspiring Healthy Living.
Ararat Rural City Council CEO Dr Tim Harrison said there are many inspiring people in the region and encouraged everyone to think about someone they could nominate.
Dr Harrison said the awards will be presented on Australia Day at the Council’s annual celebration that will include guest speakers, food and entertainment.
“Our Australia Day Awards are a fantastic opportunity to thank and recognise the wonderful people and organisations that work tirelessly to make our municipality such a great place to live and work,” he said.
“There are many quiet achievers who run events, maintain facilities, promote worthy causes or just lend a hand to those in need, and we’d love to see these people nominated for an award.”
Eligibility criteria and application forms for the four awards are on the Council’s website - click here. Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 17 January 2020.
