Liverpool’s young achievers are aiming high

Twenty-one high-achieving students in Liverpool have been recognised as part of Council’s inaugural Liverpool Young Achievers Awards.

The awards are for students in Liverpool who have excelled in areas of citizenship, academic studies, artistic endeavours or sporting talent.

Four high school students in the local government area received a $1000 prize, four primary school students received a $500 prize and 13 students received $200 for highly commended efforts under Council’s Grants and Sponsorships scheme.

“What a wonderful achievement for all award recipients, it just shows what great talent we have here in Liverpool,” said Mayor Waller

“I can only look forward to what the future holds for these fantastic and vibrant students”.

“Council is committed to recognising and encouraging local talent,” Mayor Waller said.

“Local career and education possibilities for future generations are improving every year.

“Three universities currently operate in our CBD with plans for a new multiversity in the Western Sydney Aerotropolis by 2026.

“Young people today have opportunities available to them in their own backyards that didn’t exist even a short time ago.
